Rad Omen - Rad Anthem

Rad Omen's 'Rad Anthem' is rad.  That is an undeniable truth.

Let's have a listen.

It's a tight electro song with a catchy hook containing the only lyrics.  I could see middle aged people on the train to work blaring this on the ipods their kids bought them, all the while feeling so cool for getting into this song.  It could easily be imagined as the personal anthem for nearly anyone who feels like they have a handle on things and 'knows how to do it right' in his or her 'city'.  Oh, how little they know.

We all know that fast food is bad for your health, but fast food mascots can be much, much worse...

OMG. Why The Face?!?

Take a second to remind yourself that you've actually never known how to get down. So much deviant, depraved, debauchery has never seemed so repulsive and appealing at the same time.

Rad Omen has been a somewhat mysterious band; they quietly dropped their free album, and never gave much info as to where they came from.  Luckily, Audio Muffin was able to cook up some answers.  Once you find out that the group is comprised of Peter Dante (the naked guy in Grandma's Boy), Benji Madden (from the band Good Charlotte), Simon Rex (from Scary Movies 3 and 4 aka Dirt Nasty), and DJ Troublemaker (who I'll no doubt post about again later), this whole video seems a little more plausible.  All it is then, is a bunch of rock and movie stars dressed up as their favorite fast food characters enjoying a night out and maybe halfway asking for trouble.

And that's how you get down.
